The ASHE ARTS CENTER is an historic WPA building featuring The Gallery and Gallery Shop.  With eight exhibits a year and over four-dozen artists represented in the Gallery Shop, there’s always something for everyone!  The current exhibit is Double Vision . ASHE CUSTOM FRAMING AND GALLERY, the oldest Gallery in West Jefferson, offers a fine selection of original paintings and prints by local and regional artists.  Also featured is a wide array of decorative and functional pottery, note cards, wooden items, fountains, other art gifts, and custom framing. BACKSTREET BEADS offers a full service bead shop with more than 400 varieties of semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver lead-free pewter, wood, bone and glass beads. BROOMFIELDS, a new venue in West Jefferson features well-known local and other artists, carver, photographers as well as quality antiques and collectibles. ORIGINALS ONLY GALLERY features the work of Joan Stiles Bell. Her original oil paintings include Ashe County landscapes, still life, and portraits with strong vibrant color. RIVER ROCK GALLERY is Ashe County’s first artist cooperative featuring high quality craftsmanship from local artists.  Coop members and consignment artists are showing a variety of fine art and handcrafted works including jewelry, pressed flowers, weaving, painting, stained glass, hand made books, photography, pottery, wood sculpture, and wood turnings. SPIN A YARN…….WEAVE A WEB is a fiber artists’ heaven!  Featuring supplies for spinning and weaving with classes and demonstrations. The shop features locally produced handcrafts in fibers, quilts, soaps, lotions, and jewelry. This eclectic shop also features locally grown food products.
