Emile Pandolfi in Concert at Ashe Civic Center

Emile Pandolfi makes a return visit to Ashe County for two performances sponsored by the Ashe County Arts Council. The performances will be on Saturday, August 14 at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 15 at 2:00pm at the Ashe Civic Center.

Emile Pandolfi is considered one of the finest pianists performing today. He has been described as having “monster” technique, an unparalleled musical sensitivity and a passionate soul.  His arrangements of popular standards, Hollywood and Broadway hits have been called incredibly romantic.  But equally important to him, he has been also been described as a really funny guy with a great sense of comedic timing.

Trained in classical piano from the age of five, Pandolfi’s early heroes were Vladimir Horowitz and Arthur Rubinstein; his favorite composers are Chopin and Rachmaninoff.  Unique to the world of piano, Pandolfi applies his life-long classical education to his arrangements of songs by Lloyd-Webber, Rogers & Hammerstein, and Mancini.  The result is an emotional experience that keeps his fans coming back for more.  With sales of his CDs of show tunes and pop standards approaching three million, he is ranked as one of today’s best-selling pianists in the alternative music industry. Best known for his arrangements, Emile’s favorite music to arrange comes from Broadway musicals. His concerts include a repertoire of classical music to popular music.

Pandolfi spent six years as the “piano-man” at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles - hence his comedic timing.  In his live show, Emile Pandolfi in Concert, he combines his love of laughter (all family-friendly) with his passion for music, which is always the centerpiece of the concert. Pandolfi gently moves his audience from emotion-packed arrangements and listenable classics to giggles and guffaws, then back again. Pandolfi states, “ True art doesn’t have to be stuffy!”

Reserved seating tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students and maybe purchased at the Ashe Art Center or by phone with a credit card at 336-846-ARTS.
